Episode 2.1 - Grown up and a New Job

Bianca: Are you ready for the big world outside the fence, Sis? I really don't know why Dad wants us to go to work? Uncle Andrew and Uncle Quinton are providing for us? And the garden produces food...

Zoë: I know... But let's see it as an adventure. I know I don't want to stay here trapped forever? I want to go out and meet other people. I know it's scary with the Zombies still around... But with Andrew... I mean Uncle Andrew walking with me to work every day...

Bianca: Do you have feelings for Uncle Andrew? Oh my...!

 Zoë: No! Definitely not! 

Bianca: I just want to say... He is really too old for you!

Then it's Amber's birthday...

And she grew up into a teen...

Bianca: I really think you need other clothes... That looks not cool!

Bianca helps her dad in the garden. They need to stock up fruit and vegetables for the coming winter.

Bianca: Dad why do we need to get a work when we grew up into young adults? We do have everything we need here.

Jonah: I know Sweetpea, but we did talk to you girls about it and explain it to you. We just don't want to survive here. We also need to clean up the town so that we can attract other people from other towns. And besides, you will meet other people and a man that you can start your own family with. Don't you want that?

Bianca: I guess... 

  

Andrew: So tomorrow is your birthday? Are you excited?

Zoë: Yeah, I can't wait to get a job and meet other people...

Andrew: And a new boyfriend...

Zoë: Yes! I mean no... I don't think I'm ready yet for a boyfriend...

Andrew: Aww... You are ready and I'm sure the guys will fall over their feet to take you on a date...

Zoë: I'm not sure I want anyone else... 

Andrew: Why?

Zoë: I'm not ready! Okay!

Andrew: "..."

Andrew: We really need to get more chairs... 

Quinton: I'm trying... What about you?

Lindi: It's fine guys... You're doing well with the collecting of furniture and stuff. And Jonah builds the rest that you can't find in the bins. We got almost everything we need...

Enough furniture in the living room...

The kitchen looks quite nice...

 A bunk bed

and a single bed for the girls...

 Two single beds for Andrew and Quinton.

And a double bed for the couple in the house...

Amber: What's up, Zoë? Why are you jumping up like that? Do you have ants in your pants?

Zoë: I think it's my birthday!

And she grew up into a young adult... Ugh! That hair and clothes... Why EA?


The next morning

Andrew: Your hair looks nice...

Zoë: Aww, thank you...

Andrew: Are you ready to go for the interview at your first job?

Zoë: Yes, I am... And I'm excited about it!  

Andrew: Yeah, you will meet some other people that aren't zombies.

Zoë: That's a relief...

Andrew: I wish I can meet other people that aren't zombies...

Zoë: So why don't you apply for a job then?

Andrew: It's our job to clean out the town and get rid of the zombies.

Zoë: Isn't there a cure to heal them?

Andrew: Not that I'm aware of. Until then we have to shoot them.

Zoë: That is really sad...

Andrew: Just stay near me, okay?

Zoë: Okay... I will.

Zoë: Are you sure this is the place where I have to go for an interview?

Andrew: Yeah... 

Zoë: But it looks so...

Andrew: Crappy? I know... Most of the buildings look like that. Lots of repairs are needed to get this town nice again.

Zoë: Oh, well, where do I need to go?

 Andrew: Follow me...

(I really don't know why she has to change clothes.) 

Zoë: Wish me luck!

Andrew: Break a leg!

After an hour she's back...

Zoë: I got it! I got my first job!

Andrew: Awesome! Congratulations! Should we go back home?

Zoë: Aww... Can't we stay a bit longer? I really would like to explore the town.

Andrew: I guess we can...

 And while Andrew does some dumpster diving Zoë harvest some fruit.

Later on, they've decided to go home before they run into zombies...

Andrew: Not so fast, Zoë! I can't protect you there...

Zoë: I have to get away from you. You smell like a skunk! And besides, I got mom's gun. I can protect myself.

Andrew: If you say so...



Later that evening Lindi and Jonah are watching the stars...

Lindi: I can't believe we didn't get married at all these years...

Jonah: Yeah, life was just too busy for us from the time we got here... There wasn't time to do that or even think of that.

Lindi: Yeah, I can't believe the years went by so fast... Our firstborn is almost a young adult herself.

Jonah: Yep and she will start a family soon...

Lindi: And then we will be grandparents... 

Amber: Did you know our parents isn't married? 


Zoë: Yeah, I know...

Amber: And you're okay with that?

Zoë: "..."

Amber: But it isn't right! They must get married! They shouldn't have children without wedlock! We shouldn't have been here!

Zoë: Amber calm down...! It's not a big deal... In today's time, people don't get married anymore before they're having kids...


Amber: But I want my parents to be married...! That is the right thing to do...

 Zoë: If it will let you feel better let's plan a wedding for them then. 

Amber: That will be awesome! Let's do it!
