Episode 1.4 - Winter, Birthdays and a New Life

As the days went by Lindi tried not to think too much about Jonah. Luckily the two kids kept her busy. That is what keeps her alive and helps her not going mad. Otherwise, she would have gone outside and looking for him. And that would've been a disaster. She could be Zombie munchies long ago.

Also to keep herself busy she re-arrange the room.

Checking out all the new stuff the guys brought back from their scavenger trips...

And then a few months later it's Zoë's birthday...

And she grew up into a child... It's strange how the kids have grown up so fast... It feels like yesterday when they were born.

And the first thing she does is to get something to eat... After all, she is a growing child.

Otherwise, the days went by like usual. Andrew is out on his scavenger trip.

Dumpster diving and smells like a skunk afterwards... ;)

If Lindi isn't busy with the kids she spends her time reading in her cozy corner...

And then one day a familiar face appears on the other side of the door. Can it be? And he looks so normal?

She just threw the door open before she thinks...

Lindi: Jonah!

Andrew: Don't open the...!

But it's too late... Jonah and Lindi are already looking into each other's eyes...

Lindi: You are healthy! I can't believe my eyes...

Jonah: Yeah, I am...

Lindi couldn't wait to show him their new baby...

Jonah: Where's Zoë? I don't see her on her sleeping mat...

Lindi: She doesn't sleep there anymore...

Jonah: Why? Where is she?

Lindi: You were gone a long time... She grew up into a child now and sleeps in one of the tents... You will see her in the morning...

Jonah: Really? It doesn't seem that long that I was gone... Aww well, I can wait a few hours to see her.

Then the next morning he sees Zoë... She grew up into a beautiful child. She looks just like her mother.

Jonah: And why are you having marshmallows for breakfast, Butterfly? That isn't healthy food for a growing child.

Zoë: Aww... This is just a snack, Daddy. I had my breakfast long ago before you got out of bed...

Jonah: Really? It is still early...

Zoë: It isn't, Daddy! It's almost midday already...!

Jonah: How do you know what time it is? You are too young to know...

Zoë: I'm not too young! Mommy taught me everything! Look!

Showing him the time on the wall clock. And she was right! It is almost midday. He must have slept for many hours.

Jonah: You did a good job with Zoë. I can't believe I missed out on her birthday...

Lindi: Luckily you are here for Bianca... Please promise me you won't do that ever again?

Jonah: Promise you what?

Lindi: Going out to get supplies. It's Andrew and Quinton's job to do that!

Jonah: So what is my job?

Lindi: To keep me happy and help me with the house chores and kids...

Jonah: Is that all? It shouldn't be that difficult... ;)

The days flew and before they can wipe out their eyes, Bianca grew up into a toddler.

Jonah: Hey, Sweetpea... I can't believe you grew up so fast...

And Bianca grew up just looking like her Daddy... She's gonna be Daddy's girl...

And she's already a busy bee...

Scribbling on the walls... And what an artist she's going to be one day...

No Bianca...! Not the potty! That's not cool...!

Oh well, there are other places to explore...

Quinton: Guys, not long anymore then we can go back to our old place... Winter will be over in a month.

Andrew: Aww, I can't wait for the warmer days...

Jonah: Yeah, and I can't wait to be out of this place and look at the green grass and trees and smell the clean fresh air of nature out there.

Andrew: I can imagine this place can be depressing to stay indoors all the time.

Jonah: At least one of you guys go outside to gather supplies every other day... So you aren't trapped in here like the rest of us.

Andrew: True, but on the other side of that door we have the danger of Zombies craving for our brains and it smells like death with all the dead bodies lying in the streets... The park already looks like a graveyard. One day we need to clean up the streets and make the town more liveable.

Quinton: Yeah, but we will have to wait until all the Zombies are dead.

Jonah: Yeah, I can't wait to explore this town without running into Zombies all the time. But let's change the subject... Let's rather discuss the new house. Are you guys sure I can't help?

Lindi: Don't even think of that!

Jonah: Yes boss!

Andrew: You will get your turn when we moved in. I'm sure Lindi will need some new furniture. And after the winter the garden will also need some work done.

Jonah: Yeah, yeah...
